Is AEJuice worth it? What Reddit says, thread by thread
Across 24 Reddit threads from 2024 to 2026, half of them in r/AfterEffects, the view of AEJuice is mostly negative: commenters call much of the library cheesy or uneven, find the Pack Manager clunky and distrust the never-ending sale. A minority say particular packs are handy and the one-time bundle is fair. Only 4 threads hold a real discussion, so treat this as a small sample.
- 24 threads in r/AfterEffects, r/premiere, r/VideoEditing and r/MotionDesign, January 2024 to October 2026; 163 comments counted
- Only 4 threads hold real discussion; 8 others are affiliate, referral or promotional posts
- Most-named alternatives: Envato Elements, Motion Array and aescripts
- Liked: the free GIF exporter and CopyEase, and the Digital Screen Constructor
- We make mouzeclick, a competitor; no thread mentions it
How did we read Reddit's AEJuice threads?
We searched post titles for aejuice and ae juice (plus the broader juice in r/AfterEffects) in r/AfterEffects, r/premiere, r/VideoEditing and r/MotionDesign from 1 January 2024 to 31 October 2026, using the Arctic Shift archive of Reddit. That found 26 threads; two about an unrelated animation called Juice Park were dropped, leaving 24. We read 170 comments, 163 after removing bots, removed comments and duplicates.
Only four threads hold a real conversation: the r/AfterEffects worth-it thread (64 comments, March 2025), a thread calling AEJuice the sketchiest app around (20, July 2025), a trial-billing warning in r/MotionDesign (17, March 2026) and the r/premiere worth-it thread (14, March 2025). The other 20 are affiliate, referral or promotional posts (8, several removed or flagged by moderators), small support questions (4), requests to split the bundle (3), a crack request, and four posts nobody replied to.
Opinions are paraphrased and linked, with two short quotes. One account behind positive comments also posted an affiliate link, and one reply claims to speak for AEJuice; both are flagged below. We're not affiliated with Reddit or AEJuice. We make mouzeclick, which competes with AEJuice. For prices and licences side by side, see our AEJuice alternative comparison.
Which products come up most in the AEJuice threads?
AEJuice itself, then its I Want It All bundle and its Pack Manager app. The alternatives named most are Envato Elements, Motion Array and aescripts. Counts come from our tally script over the 24 threads and 163 comments.
| Product | Threads | Mentions | Comment score |
|---|---|---|---|
| AEJuice (any mention) | 24 | 53 | 48 |
| AEJuice bundle (incl. I Want It All) | 12 | 21 | 25 |
| AEJuice Pack Manager / interface | 4 | 13 | 29 |
| Mister Horse / Premiere Composer | 3 | 4 | 4 |
| Envato Elements / Videohive | 2 | 19 | 29 |
| Motion Array | 2 | 18 | 23 |
| aescripts + aeplugins | 2 | 12 | 68 |
| AEJuice Digital Screen Constructor | 2 | 10 | 12 |
| Red Giant / Maxon | 2 | 5 | 2 |
| AEJuice GIF export (free) | 2 | 3 | 1 |
| AEJuice CopyEase (free) | 2 | 2 | 2 |
A mention is one post or comment that names the product. The score column adds up those comments' Reddit scores as the archive captured them, often early, so treat it as a rough signal. aescripts tops it (68) because the most upvoted reply in the main thread, at 24 points, says to work out exactly what you need and buy targeted tools there instead. Envato Elements and Motion Array have high mention counts but appear in only two threads each.
Is AEJuice worth it, according to Reddit?
For most commenters, no, or only for a narrow use. The 64-comment r/AfterEffects thread leans against it: its top replies say the bundle trades quality for quantity, and that one good tool for the job you actually do beats a basket of uneven presets (top reply, second, third).
- After Effects users say the effects are often ugly or cheesy, can be rebuilt with After Effects' own tools, or repackage free scripts (one, another).
- Premiere Pro editors are kinder. An amateur without After Effects calls the bundle worth it for transitions (comment); another likes that it drops transitions onto the cut for you and prefers a one-time fee to a subscription (comment, earlier comment).
- Long-time owners are mixed. A five-year user paid under $200 for the lifetime bundle and says it helped a lot (comment); another rarely uses theirs and calls the interface outdated (comment).
One caution: a confident defence in r/premiere, saying everything works and support replies within 12 hours, came from the account that posted an affiliate link in the r/AfterEffects thread (comment). Our best After Effects extensions roundup sets AEJuice beside the other content libraries.
Are AEJuice's assets any good?
Reddit's answer: quality ranges from very good to poor, and you'll probably use a small slice. The praise is specific: one commenter uses the light leaks, rain and snow and shape-layer animations across many jobs and wouldn't call it a bad deal even if more than half goes untouched (comment); another has had no crashes and opens the precomps to customise (comment).
The complaints are about weight and reliability as much as looks:
- The neon-sign pack slowed one editor's computer enough that they stopped using it (comment).
- The Premiere Pro transition script sometimes puts a transition in the wrong place, or fails until Premiere restarts (comment).
- One user says it installed huge files, many broken, was hard to uninstall and brought lots of spam email (comment).
- AEJuice's auto-captions plugin crashed After Effects for one buyer, who then hit a 24-hour limit on downloading it again (post).
- Opening the panel cut all computer sound for another user until they restarted without it (comment).
If captions were the draw, our guide to auto captions in After Effects covers the other routes.
What do Reddit users complain about in the AEJuice Pack Manager?
Almost everything. The Pack Manager, the app every pack installs through, comes up 13 times in 4 threads, and no owner has a good word for it. Commenters call it annoying (comment), so inefficient that one owner stopped using their pack (comment), primitive and laggy (comment), and forever asking to update (comment). Others object to installing a launcher at all (comment, 7 points) and to downloads breaking their flow (comment).
One user noticed AEJuice processes running with After Effects closed; a reply presenting itself as AEJuice says that's the auto-updater, which can be switched off (complaint, reply). Support threads add a manager stuck on a network error (thread) and a panel that wouldn't dock in Premiere Pro on a Mac (comment). For context, AEJuice's bundle page says the licence is checked when a pack installs, with no checks while you edit.
What does Reddit say about AEJuice pricing and the I Want It All bundle?
The price is fair, Reddit says; the selling isn't. Two commenters call the $149 bundle fair for what you get (one, another). On 31 October 2026 AEJuice's bundle page still showed $149 against a list price of $8412; that markdown is mocked in two threads (comment, comment), and others say the countdown never ends (comment, comment).
- Contents. A Black Friday buyer couldn't download half of what they expected: "It turns out 'I want it all' actually means 'I want some'." (comment). Another calls the contents a moving target (comment). AEJuice's page says packs released after you buy aren't added automatically, though you can upgrade at a discount.
- Trial billing. The r/MotionDesign poster took a free trial in autumn 2025, saw no subscription or billing details on their account page, and was later charged $468. Per the post, live chat said cancelling needed an email or chat at least 24 hours before the trial ended, and refused a refund (post, follow-up). It's the highest-scoring post in our set (42). $468 matches the yearly bill for the top All Access tier as AEJuice's pricing page shows it.
- Sharing. An offer to split the bundle was corrected twice: the licence covers two computers for one holder, not two people (reply, another), which matches AEJuice's page.
Which AEJuice tools do people actually like?
The free ones, plus the Digital Screen Constructor. In the otherwise hostile July 2025 thread, one commenter wrote: "Their GIF renderer is actually top tier, free, and way better than GIF Gun." (comment). The same comment prefers AEJuice's free CopyEase to the usual ease-copy tools, and a 2024 fan post thanks AEJuice for how much it gives away (post).
The catches: CopyEase means installing the Pack Manager, which one commenter calls bloatware (comment), and one user's GIF export came out as a tiny blinking dot while another couldn't get a file under 500 KB (first, second).
The Digital Screen Constructor is the paid pack people defend: about 80 screen layouts, from headlines to social-media chats (comment), sold alone for around $60 per one commenter (comment), with no equivalent the original poster could find on Envato or Motion Array (comment). Another reply links a tutorial for building it yourself (comment). Our After Effects UI templates guide covers both routes.
What does Reddit recommend instead of AEJuice?
Targeted tools from aescripts, or a template subscription such as Envato Elements or Motion Array. The replies point to buying less, not to another big bundle. For Motion Bro, another preset library, see our Motion Bro Reddit summary.
- aescripts + aeplugins. The top reply says to decide what you need and buy that at higher quality there (comment). When someone called it expensive, a commenter pointed to free items and plenty at $10 to $30 (comment).
- Envato Elements. The same commenter suggests it at about $16 a month for unlimited templates, at better quality than AEJuice. The catch, says another, is finding things: you need the right keywords or luck (comment).
- Motion Array. Praised for variety (comment). One user pulls from it every week, while a $50 transition pack they bought got used three times (comment).
- Mister Horse. Even the anti-launcher thread gives it a small pass for being helpful (comment). Its Premiere Composer is now Animation Composer; see our Animation Composer comparison.
- Your own library. A long-time AEJuice owner builds one from bought templates and organises it with the AEViewer Pro script (comment).
What does Reddit say to do before buying any After Effects bundle?
Learn After Effects first, then buy one or two tools for jobs you actually repeat. It comes up again and again in these threads.
- Buy fewer, learn them well. One reply says to buy one or two good plugins and learn them deeply, because plain After Effects does a remarkable amount on its own (comment).
- Build what you can. Asked where to find high-quality assets, one commenter's whole answer was that you build them (comment). Another says a lot of AEJuice's examples can be worked out with built-in tools (comment).
- Know a template from a script. A script adds a tool; a template is a finished animation you customise, and as far as one commenter knows, AEJuice sells templates (comment). Our plugin vs script vs extension explainer covers the file types.
- Be honest about your goal. In r/premiere: if editing is a means to an end, presets are fine; if you want to become a better editor, skip them (comment).
Where mouzeclick fits (our view)
This section is ours, not Reddit's: nobody in these 24 threads mentions mouzeclick. We make it, so read it as a maker's view.
mouzeclick isn't a content library, and it won't replace AEJuice if you want 20,000 finished assets. It's tools for jobs editors repeat. On Windows, the mouzeclick workspace is one After Effects panel with 159 text animation presets, 81 UI templates, 14 camera shakes, easing curves and captions written on your own computer. On Windows and Mac, the same key adds 22 extensions, including mouzeflow's 15 transitions between After Effects layers and mouzetrans' 11 on Premiere Pro cuts. The all-in-one After Effects extension guide goes section by section.
- Trial. 3 days, no card, so it can't turn into a charge. The 30-day pass is paid once with no auto-debit.
- Price. One plan: $25 a month, $249 a year or $499 once for one of the first 100 lifetime keys, which works for as long as mouzeclick runs. See the pricing section.
- Limits. No big asset library, and a fraction of AEJuice's transitions. The workspace and auto captions are Windows only. It needs an internet connection while it runs, and one key runs on one computer at a time, where AEJuice allows two. No refunds after payment unless it won't run on your computer and we can't fix that within 7 days.
Try the mouzeclick tools for 3 days, no card, next to whatever packs you already own. One plan with everything included, $25 a month, or $249 for a year.
Questions people ask
Is AEJuice legit, or is it a scam, according to Reddit?
It's a real product from AEJuice LLC, and people on Reddit do own and use it. The distrust is about how it's sold: a sale price shown against $8412, a countdown commenters say never ends, a bundle one buyer felt didn't include everything, and a $468 charge after a free trial in a March 2026 r/MotionDesign post. Some owners say it has helped their work for years.
Is AEJuice free?
Partly. AEJuice's page lists a free tier of 35 products and 10 courses with no end date, and Redditors single out the free GIF exporter and CopyEase. The big bundle costs $149 once as shown on 31 October 2026, and All Access is a subscription. When someone asked in r/MotionDesign whether it was totally free, the one answer was a question back: what does the website say?
Does AEJuice crash or slow down After Effects?
Reddit is split. Two owners report no crashes, and another says the assets they use render without issues. Others describe the neon-sign pack slowing their machine, the auto-captions plugin crashing After Effects, the panel muting all computer sound, and the Premiere transition script failing until a restart. Test the packs you'd actually use on a real project before relying on them.
Can two people share one AEJuice licence?
No. Both replies to a split-the-bundle post in r/AfterEffects say the same thing: the licence covers two computers for one licence holder, not two people. AEJuice's bundle page lists one licence for two computers. Splitting a purchase with a stranger breaks that.
How do you cancel an AEJuice free trial, according to Reddit?
The one Reddit account we have is a warning, not a guide. The poster says live chat told them to email or chat at least 24 hours before the trial ended, and that their account page showed no subscription to cancel. If you start a trial, find the cancellation route in the terms first and keep proof that you used it.
Does AEJuice work in Premiere Pro?
Yes. AEJuice's page lists Premiere Pro as a native host, and Premiere editors on Reddit are its kindest reviewers: they like that it drops transitions onto cuts for you. The problems reported are the transition script misplacing transitions or failing until Premiere restarts, and the Pack Manager panel refusing to dock in Premiere on one user's Mac.
Why is AEJuice always on sale?
Reddit can't tell you why, but it has noticed. Commenters mock the $8,412 list price against $149, and one planned to set an alarm to see whether the countdown resets. On 31 October 2026 the bundle page still showed $149 against $8412. Treat $149 as the real price; a referral link in one thread offered no extra discount once Black Friday had passed.
Does Reddit recommend mouzeclick as an AEJuice alternative?
No. mouzeclick has zero mentions in the 24 AEJuice threads and 163 comments we read, so we won't pretend otherwise. The alternatives Redditors actually name are aescripts, Envato Elements, Motion Array and Mister Horse. Our own case for mouzeclick, with its limits, is in the section above and in our AEJuice comparison.
