The all-in-one After Effects extension, section by section

Updated 2026-10-31 · by the mouzeclick team · Also in Español, Português (Brasil), Bahasa Indonesia

An all-in-one After Effects extension is one dockable panel that holds the tools you use every day, instead of a folder of separate scripts or a bundle of preset packs. mouzeclick's After Effects workspace is that kind of panel: 11 sections, from anchor buttons and 159 text presets to captions written on your own computer. It runs on Windows only.

  • Windows only: the Mac app does not include the workspaces
  • 159 text presets, 81 UI templates, 44 easing curves, 14 camera shakes, 101 caption language options
  • The same key adds 15 After Effects extensions and a 114-tool Tool wheel, on Windows and Mac
  • One plan: $25 a month, $249 a year or $499 once; 3 days free, no card
  • 5,000+ features: every tool, preset, style, effect and action across the app and both workspaces (October 2026)

What is an all-in-one After Effects extension?

It is one panel you dock once in After Effects that does the jobs a dozen small tools used to do: anchor points, text presets, easing, colour, captions and project clean-up, all behind one switcher and one search box. The point is fewer windows, not more assets.

A normal motion job goes from the Effects & Presets panel to two script panels, into the Graph Editor, out to a browser tab for a palette, and back. Each step is fine; the switching between them is what costs you. A good all-in-one panel turns it into one habit: press /, type "precomp", press Enter.

What separates a real one from a launcher with a new name:

  • It does the work itself. A toolbar that only runs scripts you already own is a launcher, which is a different thing.
  • It leaves native After Effects material behind: layers, expressions, text animators and keyframes you can edit by hand.
  • It installs and updates itself, so you aren't chasing .zxp files after every Adobe update.

If the file types are the confusing part, our plugin vs script vs extension explainer covers .aex, .jsx and ZXP panels and where each one installs.

Is an all-in-one After Effects plugin the same as an extension pack?

No. Most pages that say "all in one After Effects plugin" mean a bundle of preset packs, which is a content library. An all-in-one extension is a tool panel. Plenty of editors own one of each.

AEJuice's I Want It All Bundle Lifetime is the clearest example of the first kind: 133 packs and 20000+ assets for $149 one-time, installed through its Pack Manager app. Motion Bro's plugin is free and you buy packs once, such as a 10K transitions bundle at $112. Motion Studio from Mt. Mograph is the second kind: a toolkit of "80+ tools" on a subscription.

  • A pack gives you finished looks: transitions, titles, VFX elements. You drag one in and adjust it.
  • A toolkit panel changes how you build: where the anchor sits, how keys ease, how 40 layers get renamed.
  • An "extension pack" can mean either, so check the product page for "presets" versus "tools".

The mouzeclick workspace is a toolkit with some content inside: 159 text presets, 81 UI templates, 14 camera shakes, but no 20,000-asset library. A rule that holds up: if it has to look finished by Friday, buy content. If you do the same ten things all day, buy tools.

What is inside the mouzeclick After Effects workspace?

Eleven sections, a command console and a search box, in one panel you open from Window › Extensions › mouzeclick workspace. Counts are for the shipped 0.58.40 panel. Six themes (Obsidian Glass, Pearl Glass, Prism Studio, Candy Play, Rose Atelier and Neon Arena) recolour the whole panel, and the workspace atlas has a screenshot of every section.

Counting every tool, preset, style, effect and action across the app and both workspaces, mouzeclick has 5,000+ features; the After Effects workspace alone holds 800+ tools, presets and templates. This is the After Effects panel, section by section.

Overview

The start page, with four workspace cards and four shortcuts (Auto captions, Easing curves, Adjustment layer, Organize project). Project organizer sorts the project into numbered folders and deletes nothing. Composition board lays selected precomps out as a presentation board; Restore puts them back.

Toolbox

Nine anchor buttons move the anchor to any corner, edge or the centre without moving the layer. One click adds a null, adjustment layer, solid, camera, text or shape. Then Comp cut, Split layer, Precomp sep (one precomp per layer), Un-precomp, True dup and Text exploder, which puts characters, words, lines or paragraphs on their own layers.

In plain After Effects, Layer › Pre-compose puts everything selected into one precomp, there is no un-precompose command, and Ctrl+D on a precomp layer gives a second layer pointing at the same comp, so editing one changes both. True dup makes an unlinked copy instead.

Command console

Press Ctrl+K or Shift+Space, type a command, run it. Type "fx" and an effect name to apply any installed effect. Commands cover easing on keyframes, numbered renames, comp frame rate and duration, and shape grids, rings, scatters and stacks.

Motion lab

Four sub-tabs: Fx presets, Shakes, Map rigs and Ss to ae (beta). Shakes holds 14 camera shakes and flickers: click to preview, double-click to apply, then set speed and strength (see the camera shake presets page). Orb generator drives layers on a circle, sphere or path from one null, in six modes. Highlighter draws a box, underline or strike that resizes with the text. Number counter handles currency and short formats such as 10.4K. Project downgrader opens a project saved in a newer After Effects after backing up the original.

Map rigs frames any place on a live map, adds routes, pins and camera moves, and builds it in After Effects; the imagery loads online. The map animation guide walks through a route.

Shape studio and UI templates

81 animated UI templates (charts, lower thirds, widgets, forms, commerce cards, chat screens, 3D cards) that you edit for content, style and motion before anything reaches your comp. Theme colours arrive as Color Controls. Also here: 39 grid layouts by layer count, Motion Showcases for 2 to 20 layers, a shape morpher, and a Shape tools sub-tab marked Beta. The UI templates guide lists every category.

Type studio

159 presets: Text Animator 28, SaaS 11, Stagger 54, Multi 24, Text 20 and Motion 22. Stagger runs in five orders, and its 48 one-shot presets take eight eases. Multi builds kinetic one-, two- or three-word cards with your words. Hover a preset and it plays beside the pointer with "Double-click to apply". After Effects' own text presets sit under Animation Presets › Text in Effects & Presets; the text animation presets guide compares the two.

Timeline

Effects lists every effect in the comp with a use count and flags heavy ones. Comp tree shows precomps with layer search. Rename batch-renames with find and replace, case, numbering and seven name tokens, previewed first; plain After Effects renames one layer at a time. Fx control shows every selected layer's effects as one stack.

Color desk

31 SaaS palettes, 39 trending palettes, 66 gradients, 99 marketing solids and 23 warm tones. A palette becomes a four-colour gradient or an animated gradient background with real keyframes. A contrast checker covers AA and AAA, and a simulator shows colour-blind views.

Easing lab

Six curve types (Bezier, Spline, Elastic, Bounce, Wave, Steps) and 44 ready curves. Read a curve from selected keys, apply it, or let Auto apply edits live; copy it as an expression or export it as .mzgraph. The plain way is F9 for Easy Ease, then the Graph Editor (Shift+F3) to drag handles key by key. Our easing presets guide shows both.

Library

Comp Saver keeps comps by category with an optional animated preview. FFX presets stores effect stacks in folders. There are 25 recommended expressions plus your own, an asset library shared with the Premiere Pro workspace, and Send to Premiere.

Editors

Media viewer plays and trims a reference before import. Board holds files, links and notes; Storyboard turns cards into numbered scenes linked to a comp. Icons searches online icon sets.

Caption studio

Captions are transcribed on your own computer; the dialog says no data leaves your machine. Pick Auto Detect, Hinglish or one of 99 named languages. Every word is a chip: click to make it a keyword, double-click to fix it. Ready-made looks and 13 word animations, then out as styled caption layers, subtitle layers or JSON. The After Effects auto captions guide covers models and timing.

Project and audio tools

These sit in Motion lab too. Comp resizer resizes several comps at once with content kept in place. Auto relinker finds missing footage. Mask layer splitter puts each mask on its own layer. Silence remover cuts pauses from speech layers with Dialogue, Podcast or Aggressive presets, and Mark audio beats drops markers on every beat, or on kicks or snares.

Can one panel handle captions, silence removal and text presets in After Effects?

Yes, on Windows. In the mouzeclick workspace the three sit a click apart: Silence remover in Motion lab, Caption studio as a dialog, and Type studio for the title card. A talking-head short goes like this:

  1. Select the clip's layer, open Silence remover, pick Dialogue and choose markers only, so you see the cuts before anything moves.
  2. When the markers look right, run it with cut and close gaps.
  3. Open Caption studio and caption the selected layer. Read every line, double-click any wrong word to fix it, and click the words you want as keywords.
  4. Pick a look and a word animation, then build the caption layers into the comp.
  5. Open Type studio for the hook title: hover to preview, double-click to apply.

Read the captions through before you build them: names and numbers are where speech models slip most. If you cut in Premiere anyway, the Premiere Pro workspace has its own Caption studio and Cut desk, also on Windows only.

How does it compare with AEJuice, Motion Bro, Animation Composer, Motion Studio and KBar?

They solve different problems. AEJuice and Motion Bro sell content, Animation Composer pairs a free asset browser with a few tools, Motion Studio and KBar are tool panels, and mouzeclick is a tool panel plus a mouse app. Prices are as each maker's own page showed them on 31 October 2026.

Where each one is the better pick, plainly:

  • AEJuice if you mostly need finished content: $149 once buys far more finished assets than a toolkit ships, and they work outside Adobe too. More on the AEJuice alternative page.
  • Motion Bro if transitions are the job. The plugin is free and projects open without it.
  • Animation Composer if you want to start free, commercial use included.
  • Motion Studio if you animate on a Mac, or across After Effects, Illustrator and Resolve. It costs less a year too; see the Motion Studio comparison.
  • KBar if you already own the scripts you like and just want buttons, paid once.
  • mouzeclick if you're on Windows, edit in both After Effects and Premiere Pro, and want captions, silence removal, text presets and easing in one panel, plus 114 After Effects tools on a mouse wheel.

Does the all-in-one After Effects extension work on Mac?

The workspace doesn't. It is part of mouzeclick on Windows 10 and 11, and the Mac app does not include it. Auto captions, cloud sync and in-app updates are Windows only as well.

A Mac on macOS 12 or newer still gets the 15 After Effects extensions (mouzekit's 28 tools in seven groups, mousecut, mouzetype, mouzecam and the rest), Search effects, and the After Effects Tool wheel with 114 tools in 13 groups. One key runs on Windows or Mac, one computer at a time. Apple hasn't notarized the Mac app yet, so macOS asks you to allow it once; the Mac install guide shows where.

If you animate on a Mac and want a full toolkit panel, Motion Studio lists native Apple Silicon builds and is the honest pick today.

How do you install it and open it from the Window menu?

You don't handle a .zxp at all: mouzeclick installs its own panels and keeps them up to date. On Windows:

  1. Start the trial or buy a key. The key arrives by email with the Windows and Mac download links, which are also on your account page.
  2. Install mouzeclick and enter the key. There's no driver.
  3. mouzeclick adds the workspace to After Effects for you. For the 15 extensions and the Tool wheel link, press Install After Effects bridge on the Tool wheel page.
  4. Restart After Effects, then open Window › Extensions › mouzeclick workspace and dock it where you like.
  5. Keep mouzeclick running while you work. It needs an internet connection while it runs.

If the panel doesn't appear, quit After Effects fully, check mouzeclick is running, and reopen. The extension troubleshooting section lists the other usual causes.

How much does it cost, and is there a free trial?

One plan covers everything: $25 a month, $249 for a year, or $499 once for a lifetime key. Every price includes the app, every Premiere Pro tool, both workspaces on Windows and all 22 extensions. You can try it for 3 days with no card.

  • Monthly is a 30-day pass you pay once, or a subscription that renews by itself, at the same price.
  • Lifetime keys stop at the first 100 sold. A lifetime key works for as long as mouzeclick runs, and retiring the service needs at least 60 days' notice.
  • Codes: a creator or friend code takes 10% off a new customer's first 30-day or 1-year payment.
  • Trial: the 3 days start the first time you use the key. It covers the After Effects and Premiere Pro tools on one computer.
  • Refunds: none after payment, which is why the trial exists. If mouzeclick doesn't work on your computer and can't be fixed within 7 days of payment, you get a full refund.

Against the table, Motion Studio at $132 a year and KBar at $39.99 once both cost less than mouzeclick's yearly price. The mouse app, the Premiere Pro tools and the extensions are what the difference pays for; if you only open After Effects, that counts for less. Prices are in the pricing section.

What are the limits of an all-in-one After Effects toolkit panel?

The big one is platform: the workspace is Windows only. After that, these are the limits we'd want to know before buying:

  • It needs the internet while it runs, and Map rigs and the Icons search load online.
  • It is not a content library. No stock footage, no sound-effects pack, nothing like 20,000 assets.
  • No published minimum After Effects version. Test your own version during the trial.
  • Some parts are labelled beta: the Shape tools sub-tab, Ss to ae and Font replacer.
  • It's a big panel. Eleven sections are a lot to learn at once, so start with the three quick workspaces at the bottom: Motion lab, Easing lab and Toolbox.
  • Some jobs belong to other tools. It doesn't rig characters the way Duik does, and it isn't a live bridge from Figma or Illustrator the way Overlord is. Our roundup of the best After Effects extensions covers both.

Try the After Effects workspace on your own comps. One plan with everything included, $25 a month, or $249 for a year.

Questions people ask

Is there a free all-in-one extension for After Effects?

Not one that covers captions, text presets, templates and easing together. The free options each do one part well: the Motion Bro plugin browses packs you buy, Animation Composer's free plan has over 1,000 assets, Video Copilot's FX Console is a free effect search, and Duik Ángela rigs characters. mouzeclick has a 3-day trial with no card.

What is the best all in one plugin for After Effects?

It depends on the job. For finished content per dollar, AEJuice's lifetime bundle ($149 once, 133 packs). For a toolkit on a Mac, Motion Studio. For one Windows panel with captions, silence removal, 159 text presets and easing, plus the same tools on your mouse, mouzeclick. Many editors pair one content library with one toolkit.

Which After Effects versions does the mouzeclick workspace support?

mouzeclick doesn't publish a minimum After Effects version for the workspace, so test it with the 3-day trial on the version you actually use. One note from the extension pages: in After Effects before 2023, mousecut edits layers that use track mattes in After Effects' own timeline instead of its own.

Does my audio leave my computer when I caption in After Effects?

No. Caption studio transcribes on your own computer, and the dialog says no data leaves your machine. The speech model downloads once the first time you use it. Other parts of the panel do go online: Map rigs loads its imagery and the Icons search looks up online icon sets.

Do I have to install a ZXP file myself?

No. mouzeclick adds the workspace to After Effects for you, and the Install After Effects bridge button on its Tool wheel page installs the extensions. Restart After Effects and open them from Window › Extensions. mouzeclick then keeps its panel files up to date itself, so there's no ZXP installer to run.

Can I use one licence on my desktop and my laptop?

One key is for one person on one computer at a time. To move it, release the old computer from your account page or inside the app, then activate the key on the new one. The key works on Windows or Mac, but remember the After Effects workspace only appears on Windows.

Is there a discount code for mouzeclick?

A creator or friend code takes 10% off a new customer's first payment for a 30-day pass or a 1-year key. It doesn't apply to lifetime keys or to the monthly subscription that renews by itself, and renewals are at the full price.

What happens when my mouzeclick plan ends?

When your time ends, the mouzeclick app pauses and your mouse keeps working as a normal mouse. Renew with the link emailed before the end (3 days before for a 30-day pass, 7 for a year) to carry on. A lifetime key doesn't expire while mouzeclick runs.
