AutoCut alternative: mouzeclick and AutoCut compared for silence, captions and zooms
mouzeclick is an AutoCut alternative for Premiere Pro editors on Windows who also want After Effects tools in the same plan: silence removal, captions written on your computer by Whisper (Hinglish included), retakes, zooms, 22 extensions and a mouse wheel. AutoCut is the better pick in DaVinci Resolve, on a Mac if you need captions, or for viral clips, B-roll and automatic chapters.
- AutoCut's page showed its AI Plan at $14.9/month billed yearly ($178.8) and a silence-only Basic tier at $79 a year (31 Oct 2026)
- mouzeclick is one plan with everything: $25 a month or $249 a year, with a 3-day trial and no card
- AutoCut runs in Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, Mac and Windows; mouzeclick in Premiere Pro and After Effects, with captions and Retakes Windows only
- AutoCut has AutoViral, AutoB-Rolls, a profanity filter and AutoChapters; mouzeclick has none of these
Is mouzeclick a good AutoCut alternative?
Yes, if you cut talking-head, tutorial or podcast video in Premiere Pro on Windows, and more so if After Effects is part of your week. No, if you edit on a Mac and need captions, or if you edit in DaVinci Resolve.
Both sit inside Premiere Pro as panels and do the same first jobs: take the pauses out, put captions on, add zooms. AutoCut calls itself an AI plugin and keeps adding automated features. mouzeclick is editing tools plus a mouse app: a silence remover whose numbers you can see, captions written on your own computer, timeline fixes, 22 extensions for Premiere Pro and After Effects, and a Tool wheel with 112 Premiere Pro tools under one mouse button.
We make mouzeclick, so read this with that in mind. Every AutoCut fact below comes from AutoCut's own pages, linked at the bottom, as they read on 31 October 2026.

How does silence removal differ between AutoCut and mouzeclick?
Both read the audio and cut the quiet parts; mouzeclick prints its numbers before anything moves. The panel pictured on AutoCut's home page shows a noise threshold in dB and three pace choices, Calm, Paced and Energetic. AutoCut doesn't publish its defaults on the pages we read.
In mouzeclick Studio, anything quieter than −40 dB for longer than 0.40 s counts as a pause, and 0.12 s is kept around speech:
- Open Window › Extensions › mouzeclick Studio and pick the Silence tab.
- Select the clips and press Analyse. Every pause is marked on the waveform; change any of the three numbers and the marks move.
- Untick any pause you want to keep, then press Remove. A copy of the sequence is kept, the gaps close on every track, and a music bed underneath is left alone.
On Windows the Cut desk in the mouzeclick workspace adds Dialogue (−48 dB), Podcast (−44 dB) and Aggressive (−38 dB) presets and a Cuts only mode that adds frame-safe cuts and closes nothing. The Studio Silence remover runs on a Mac too; the Cut desk doesn't.
The plain Premiere way
Transcribe the sequence in the Text panel (Window › Text), filter the transcript to Pauses and delete them, choosing Extract to close the gaps. It's free, but it measures gaps between recognised words, not loudness. By hand: Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on a Mac) at the start of a gap, playhead to where speech returns, Q to ripple-trim. Fine for two minutes, slow for a 40-minute podcast.
Whichever tool you use, check that you can see what it will cut before it cuts, and undo it after. Settings for noisy rooms are in the Premiere Pro silence remover guide.
Which is better for captions, including Hindi and Hinglish?
For Hindi and Hinglish, mouzeclick; for animated caption templates on a Mac, AutoCut. mouzeclick Studio's captions are written on your computer by Whisper, the open speech model, in 47 languages. Hinglish comes out in Roman letters, the way people type it, with one spelling per word, and Hindi in Devanagari is a separate choice. After a model downloads once (Fast about 60 MB, Accurate 190 MB, Best 574 MB), your audio never leaves the machine.
AutoCut has two caption modes: AutoCaptions, with word-by-word captions and your choice of fonts, colours and highlights, and Advanced AutoCaptions, in beta for Premiere Pro only since 17 Sep 2026, with 90+ editable presets. An AutoCut tutorial says you choose the audio language “from over 80 supported options”. None of the AutoCut pages we read name Hindi or Hinglish, or say where the transcription runs.
mouzeclick's flow isn't one click, on purpose: transcribe, read the captions through, fix any word, then create them. Tick Remember this fix next to Replace all and every new transcript gets that spelling by itself, so you stop correcting a client's name forty times. There are 289 looks in 27 families, in any font on your computer. Auto captions are Windows only for now. More in auto captions in Premiere Pro and Hinglish captions in Premiere Pro.
Premiere's own Speech to Text, included in the subscription, covers 18 languages including Hindi and works offline once a language pack is installed. For plain subtitles, start there.
Can mouzeclick add zooms and switch camera angles like AutoCut?
Yes, on Windows, with one difference: mouzeclick follows rules you set, where AutoCut can also let AI choose the moments. AutoCut's AutoZoom adds zooms “triggered by cuts, speech, emotions, or AI” in three styles: Jump Cut (an instant zoom with no keyframes), Smooth and Snap In. AutoCut says you can adjust or remove its zooms through the keyframes it generates.
mouzeclick has three zoom tools:
- AutoZoom, in the Windows workspace's Cut desk, puts zoom-in, hold and zoom-out keyframes on every selected clip, on the rhythm you set, from the clip's own scale. Clear Zoom takes them off.
- Zoom every other clip, in mouzeclick Studio, punches in on alternate clips after you've cut silences, so the jumps read as a second camera. It runs on a Mac too.
- mouzezoom, a Premiere Pro extension, adds zooms, callouts and blur to screen recordings.
For cameras, AutoCut Podcast detects speakers and switches angles, and AutoCut Angles mixes triggers, including Emotion and Transcript (both marked AI), with a priority per camera and a multicam mode that leaves footage untouched. mouzeclick's AutoCamera measures each speaker's mic and cuts to whoever is talking, for 2 to 8 cameras; off-air angles are disabled, never deleted. Windows only.
The plain Premiere way: Scale keyframes in Effect Controls, and a multi-camera source sequence (Clip › Create Multi-Camera Source Sequence) that you switch while it plays. More in Premiere Pro auto zoom.
Which AutoCut AI features does mouzeclick not have?
Five. If you need any of them, AutoCut is the better tool:
- AutoViral finds the strongest moments in a long video and turns them into short clips.
- AutoB-Rolls adds AI images and Storyblocks footage to your timeline.
- AutoProfanity Filter finds swear words and bleeps, mutes or removes them.
- AutoChapters generates YouTube-ready chapters with timestamps for long videos.
- AutoResize reframes sequences for social formats and keeps the subject centred.
mouzeclick's nearest tools are manual by design. mouzemark turns markers you've placed into YouTube chapters or files (CSV, text, SRT, EDL, JSON); see YouTube chapters from Premiere Pro markers. mouzsplit builds split screens and reframes as a real Premiere sequence in 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 or 16:9. For a reframe that finds the action by itself, Premiere's own Auto Reframe (Sequence › Auto Reframe Sequence) does that.
AutoCut Repeat also chooses between takes and keeps “the best version”. mouzeclick's Retakes keeps the last take, which is usually the one the speaker meant, and also finds um and uh and words said twice. It's Windows only.
Does this AutoCut alternative work in DaVinci Resolve or on a Mac?
Not in Resolve, and only partly on a Mac. mouzeclick's editing tools run inside Premiere Pro and After Effects. In Resolve you get the mouse app only: a ready-made Resolve profile and shortcut library, so your buttons, gestures and wheels fire Resolve shortcuts, but no silence remover or captions there. AutoCut supports DaVinci Resolve 18.6 or later and says every feature works in both Resolve Free and Studio (its Advanced AutoCaptions beta is Premiere only).
On a Mac (macOS 12 or newer), mouzeclick runs the app and its wheels, the Studio Silence remover, the timeline tools and all 22 extensions. Auto captions, Retakes, cloud sync, in-app updates and both workspaces, with AutoZoom and AutoCamera, are Windows only. AutoCut names no Windows-only features. On a Mac, with captions as the main job, that settles it. Details on mouzeclick for Mac.
How much does AutoCut cost compared with mouzeclick?
AutoCut's AI Plan is $178.8 billed yearly and its silence-only tier $79; mouzeclick is one plan at $25 a month, $249 a year or $499 once for a lifetime key. On 31 Oct 2026 AutoCut's page showed:
- AI Plan: $14.9/month, $178.8 billed yearly. Every mode, including captions, AutoZoom and the AI features.
- Basic tier: $6.6/month, $79 billed yearly. Silence removal only.
- Enterprise: $19.9/month per licence, $238.8 billed yearly, for teams.
AutoCut sets no time limit on video length, with “automated safeguards” against abuse.
Only the first 100 mouzeclick lifetime keys are sold, and a lifetime key works for as long as mouzeclick runs; retiring the service needs at least 60 days' notice. In India mouzeclick is billed in rupees. A creator or friend code takes 10% off a new customer's first 30-day or 1-year payment.
Price is really a scope question. If silence is your only job, AutoCut's $79 Basic tier is the narrow buy. If you'd otherwise pay separately for captions, an After Effects pack and mouse software, the sum changes. Counting every tool, preset, style, effect and action across the app and both workspaces, mouzeclick has 5,000+ features; much of that is After Effects and Windows-only, so count only what you'll use.
When is AutoCut the better pick?
When you edit on a Mac or in Resolve, want AI to pick the moments, or only cut silence:
- You edit on a Mac and want captions, retake removal, automatic zooms or camera switching inside Premiere.
- You edit in DaVinci Resolve, Free or Studio.
- You want software to pick moments for you: viral clips, B-roll, chapters, zooms on emotion, the best take rather than the last.
- You only cut silence. The Basic tier covers that for $79 a year.
- You want a longer trial: 14 days against mouzeclick's 3.
mouzeclick is the better pick when Hindi or Hinglish captions matter, when your clients want captions made on your own computer, when After Effects is half your work, or when you want the same mouse buttons and wheels to drive Premiere, After Effects and every other app. Also compared: FireCut alternative and Recut alternative.
How do I try mouzeclick next to AutoCut?
Run both on the same sequence and compare the cuts. mouzeclick's 3 days start the first time you use the key in the app, so have a real edit ready first.
- Duplicate your sequence so each tool gets its own copy.
- Install mouzeclick, enter the key from your email, press Install Premiere bridge on the app's Tool wheel page, and restart Premiere.
- Run mouzeclick Studio's Silence on one copy and AutoCut Silences on the other. Compare length and clipped word endings.
- On Windows, caption the same minute in both and count the words you fix, especially names and mixed Hindi-English.
If something doesn't show up
- No mouzeclick Studio under Window › Extensions: the bridge isn't installed, or Premiere wasn't restarted. Keep the mouzeclick app running while you work.
- Shortcuts pause mid-edit: mouzeclick needs an internet connection while it runs; if it drops, the mouse behaves like a normal mouse.
- Word endings get clipped: raise the room kept around speech from 0.12 s toward 0.2 s.
Try mouzeclick free for 3 days, no card. One plan with everything included, $25 a month, or $249 for a year.
Questions people ask
Is there a free AutoCut alternative for Premiere Pro?
Premiere's own tools are the free option: Delete Pauses in text-based editing removes pauses from a transcript, and Speech to Text makes captions in 18 languages, both included in your Premiere subscription. Neither cuts by audio level. Both paid tools have trials: 3 days with no card for mouzeclick, 14 days with no card for AutoCut.Is mouzeclick an AI plugin like AutoCut?
No. mouzeclick doesn't let software choose your edit. Captions are written on your computer by Whisper, the open speech model, and you read them through before creating them; the silence remover measures loudness; zooms are plain keyframes on a rhythm you set. AutoCut uses AI to pick zoom moments, switch cameras on emotion or topic, find viral clips and add B-roll.Does my audio get uploaded?
Not with mouzeclick. Silence detection and captions run on your computer; after a speech model downloads once, your audio never leaves the machine. The app itself needs an internet connection while it runs, for your licence. AutoCut doesn't say where its transcription runs on the pages we read, so ask them if it matters for your clients. Can I use AutoCut and mouzeclick together?
Yes. Both run as panels inside Premiere Pro, and mouzeclick's open from Window › Extensions. Some editors would keep AutoCut for AutoViral or B-roll and use mouzeclick for Hinglish captions, timeline fixes and the mouse wheel. Mind the order: cut the silences before you caption, so the captions line up with the final edit. What happens when my mouzeclick time runs out?
The app pauses and your mouse keeps working as a normal mouse. A 30-day pass, a yearly key or a lifetime key has nothing to cancel; a monthly subscription stops at the end of the paid month once you email support. Can I get a refund on mouzeclick or AutoCut?
mouzeclick gives no refunds after payment, which is why the 3-day trial needs no card. If mouzeclick doesn't work on your computer and we can't fix it within 7 days of your payment, you get a full refund. AutoCut lets you cancel any time from its customer area; we didn't find its refund terms on the pages we read.Which Premiere Pro versions do they support?
AutoCut's home page lists Premiere Pro 2023 to 2027 (its help centre says 2023 to 2026) and DaVinci Resolve 18.6 or later. mouzeclick's panel files support Premiere Pro 2020 (version 14.0) or later and After Effects CC 2018 or later; check yours during the trial before paying. The app itself needs Windows 10 or 11, or macOS 12 or newer.Sources
